Lumut and Pangkor

The owner is in blue.
The last time, I came here was more than 30 years ago with my uni friends. Pangkor was different , Last week, I was there with my faithfully friend. We stayed in Anjung in Teluk Nipah. Rented a scooter from the jetty and rode on a small machine with our luggage. Luckily, she was a good driver . I was more afraid than her. I enjoyed the cold breeze up the hilly slope leading to anjung.
Walking distance from Anjung
14 year old guide. His driving skill is awesome.
First time I was near to durians waiting to be eaten. Yummy

.
Beautiful sunset in Pangkor
daddy's cafe beachfront
see... reachable.
Aung is a quite peaceful away from the town. The best part was the beach is in front and a lovely makan place nearby for dinner... Daddy's cafe. The view from this cafe is priceless cos it is beach front. As you eat, you can hear the waves rushing to the shore. Furthermore, the cafe is litted with cute oil- lamp at nite. You will not miss it.I have to say that the food is a bit pricey compared to local stalls nearby but the view is omp.
Lunch for 2
As for lunch, many local stalls are available, you must try the local fresh fish   right from the sea. My lunch was only RM9 for two of us. In this lovely place, i seriously prefer fish.

Next... stop a durian plantation on a small scale next to a temple. It was by accident that I found the place. After, offering my prayer to the local temple, I sat durian trees. Took a short walk there. The owner is a very friendly guy. He sold us last durian since it was already late in the evening. I must say  .. I am NO durian lover at all. The last durian that I had was 30 years ago. After all the pursue, I tried. It was yummy cos it was bitter and sweet. We were invited to visit again the next morning. He promised us that he will have better ones . Truly, we went back after breakfast, we were too happy to see that he was waiting for us. Again, we ate delicious durians right from the tree.

After that, we went to a nearby island.. Coral Island to do some snokerlling, my guide is a local boy of 14 years old. He is so expert with the boat that made me think .. he was born in the sea. Faisal is his name. I enjoyed the sea very much. It is good to be in the open sea. Had the chance to feed fish with bread. The fish just ate from our hands.
Apart from the beach and durian, I must say that i enjoyed the local satay fish which is fresh but bad for the diet.
In conclusion: a nearby place from Selangor to relax and try fresh fish and durian. The people in Pangkor is friendly and helpful.

Eating

A must during Chinese New Year - Sticky cake
Eating is most Malaysian pastime. As for me,I do enjoy food.Every Chinese New Year, my sister will prepare this dish to be eaten for breakfast. It is awesomely sweet and extremely bad for diet cos it is deep fried with a coat of batter. Yummy!
Prawn fritters
Next , my daughter's all time love is this dish during Chinese New Year. Again, this is a deadly dish to be avoided if you are on diet since it is deep fried with a coat of batter.

Awesome Tomyam Soup in Kuala Rompin
Fish
I basically loved fish from young till now. My family used to say that my last life, I must have been a cat. This dish is my favourite and I prefer spicy fish cooked in any manner . Another dish that is worth saying is seafood tomyam soup in
Kuala Rompin sold in a wooden hut next to a chalet. The soup looked harmless at first but after a few spoonful of it will spice up your nose then your brain. The lala in it is so fresh and sweet, AWESOME.

A simple meal and so very yummy with fresh seafood for only RM35.
Tanjung Lumpur out of Kuantan offers good seafood with a reasonable price in Ana restaurant. On weekends, make sure go early cos the place is really packed. Customers are allowed to select the fish and the manner to be cooked. When you are there, try the sotong goreng tepung and teh sweet sour fish. I seriously like the fish. Crisp and FRESH.

Malaysian loved this breakfast. It is so most that it crosses all border. This is taken in Taiping. I liked the sambal cos it is cooked with salted fish. Nice.

Curry puff and keropok eaten in a coffee shop in Kuantan. The keropok with chilli sauce is a good tea time break.

A simple lunch in Pekan Nenas, Johor recently. It is in a stall along the main road. I really liked the assam fish. Rm 9.00 for two. Try it.
ROJAK BUAH
My all time favourite . This is from Jonker Street in Malacca. I can eat the whole dish by myself easilly plus the beautiful Chendol to go with it.

Chicken Rice has gone international. I like the stall in Klang.

Road trip with sisters

My sisters and I
Coming from a big family and being the youngest has its perk. I have three older sisters staying in Singapore and Kelantan. Annually, they will visit me. So i try my best to plan a trip with them.On such trips, we will chat and laugh sharing our experiences and family jokes.
Recently, my eldest and second sisters visited me, went to I city in Shah Alam to see lights. After that, we took off to Taiping in my froggie. My car was filled with small talks, gossips and laughs.
The view from our room in Sentosa Villa
Keeping myself sane in Maxwell Hill

After checking in Sentosa Villa, we dip ourselves in the stream. My sister, Connie gave a brilliant suggestion to self do free spa of scrubbing our bodies with the sand.Next, lying in the stream, small fishes came to us and staring giving FREE fish spa by eating our died skins.

My Job

My face drawn by my students
As a teacher in a secondary school, teaching maths Form 4 and 5. I try my best to teach Maths in a friendly way of starting the class with jokes about myself, family or my gym. I know that most people assumed that to be a teacher is easy and relaxing but I can prove to most people that survive a day is even tough.

My tired student
My day starts at 5 plus, get breakfast and MUST leave the house before 7am to reach school before the first bell at 7.20am since we have moved to new technology of the punch card. When I first had to punch, I jokingly said that I now worked in a factory.
I always rush to class after the first bell if i have the first period .WHY?? so early written all over my students face. They will greet me in the manner that they like. Next, exercise books to check and class starts. Most of the morning, they will have empty looks if I am teaching a difficult topic. I will joke to them to wake them up saying that I am speaking MOON language.
Oops...camera SHY

After showing them how to solve questions, a few students will be asked to attempt questions on board. Most of them will their best to avoid eye contact. Maybe in their hearts, pls pls not me. I will choose those who are falling asleep and not paying attention.Once I had a group of boys that refused to do ,I had to put on a brave smile but one of the boys came to the front, solved all the questions for me. Well, you do get good ones to melt your heart that the battle is tough but I survived. He scored A in SPM to move on to university and now a fine officer.
My proud moment as a teacher.

There are many many bad times that I too cried and felt like killing some of them but along the way, I have learnt to love my students as my children cos they taught many experiences outside the classroom to be a better teacher. I cry with them over sad stories and mostly, we learnt to laugh  in happy moments that is priceless.I am proud to have them leaving me sweet memories. I am very proud and pleased that I became a TEACHER since 1985.
Future leaders.

Sick

My new friend in BALOK
A good remedy.... try it !
After a bad cough, I decided that I wanted a short break. I am writing from Kuantan again. Last nite stayed in a budget hotel in Air Putih. Since we are so tired, we did not complain.
Delicious dinner
After the delicious makan of my favourite fish, took a spin and had a big cup of coffee in Kemaman . Next, sleep was important since we are going to beach next morning. It is my routine to relax at the beach. Went to the beautiful Balok beach. Laying on the white sand really recovered me from my bad cough. I seriously know that it will work better compared with the medication given by doctors.
I always loved the beach. This trip was awesome cos i saw BIG white jelly fish on the sands.

Award Ceremony of Reserve Officers Training Unit ( Palapes)

A special occasion in UTHM
9 July 2011

A teachers'pride
Last Saturday, I was able to witness this ceremony since I was invited by my former student and his family in Parir Raja, Batu Pahat. As usual, I was terrified of driving all the way from home to Batu Pahat by MYSELF.Since I had no chance but to drive, i studied the map and had help from my student who was already in Batu Pahat for two weeks.
The SOLO ride started right after school late in the afternoon. I brought along 'things' to defend myself should I really need it. I took the highway with doubts if i ever will find Parit Raja or only God knows where.....

Yeah... I found Parit Raja and saw a long jam from Parit Raja to Batu Pahat town. Somewhere near, Batu Pahat mall, i was confused and went down to a kopitiam asking a Chinese guy for direction to my hotel. My head had difficulties to understand his Hokkien or maybe Teochew but he was really helpful wanting to drive me there. I politely thanked him n said bravely in my broken Teochew that I will find my way.

Thank God, I found my lodging for the nite. Next fear, when I was abt to walk into the place. OMG.. it is just next to a funeral parlour. Its okay since I came in peace... My daughter loves to say that phrase when we are in fear. I found the staff in the hotel very helpful with my poor understanding of maps.Even the manager took time to explain the lay out of Batu Pahat and how to get to Parit Raja.

Next morning before the sunrise, I woke up to drive to Parit Raja to meet with the family. We assumed that were early enough to get a front seat to view the parade. Sadly, we were shocked that the WHOLE place were already full before 7 am.
See how happy the Maths teacher is.

Waited... waited.... waited..... the sun shone.... got all the Vitamins that we needed yet no sight of the Sultan ... Arrived  ... sang Lagu Bangsa Johor... Soon the pride of every parents, grandparents, aunties and tearchers(ME!).We felt so proud that our sons and daughters in full uniform holding rifles and swords. My heart swell with joy when I saw him leading the others holding a sword. At that precise moment, I saw my student of Form 4 turned into a fine cadet officer and second lieutenant. It was his dream since schooldays. I am sure his parents are even more proud of him.His university won the award for the best marching detachment among the 14 universities that auspicious day.

In conclusion ::
As his Maths teacher, I am so proud of his achievement in UPNM graduating soon in Second Upper. I will always remember him as the boy that carried my basket to the Staff room every morning and closing all the doors at the end of extra maths class. Mostly, his family treated me warmly every Raya and accepting me . Kudos>>

Kuala Rompin

Sun Rise in Kuala Rompin
See I had the whole beautiful beach to myself in Somerset in Kuala Rompin.

A haven for anglers from Singapore and Malaysia. I found this interesting place on my way to Endau. I stayed in a chalet next to the river. A clean and cheap chalet for only Rm 70 a nite for a big room. Too good to be true. There is a BUT.... shared bathroom. If one can tahan then its okay cos the room comes with air- cond.No complains since the view in the morning is breathe- taking.
My Favourite stall next to the chalet

I like this place very much cos of the peace and the beautiful view. Another plus point to consider is a gd place to makan next door. A wooden shackle on stilts run by a Malay family. For dinner, you must try the tomyam lala soup which will knock your socks. The soup look harmless but the PEDAS... OMG... next the sweet lala is HEAVEN. YOU MUST try then you get d kick. Next that is awesome is d sotong fritter which is good but a bit salty.
Sunset view from my room
Simple breakfast , yummy n CHEAP too.

Port Dickson

5 July 2011
Attending a course in Tiara Beach Resort. I was happy to have a short break from school. My adventure mode is on and hoping to see new things.

Drove alone for 2 hrs here without my fren( my GPS), during the drive here, I was really worried that I could not find the way knowing how hopeless I am at reading maps.Is that woman's weakness? No, I will ask for directions. I always do that. My daughter commented that getting lost is my specialty cos that was what happened to us there.

After checking, i rented a bike for an hour alone. I had enough time before the lecture starts. I rode around Tiara but felt sad cos the beach is too far to go on my rented bike. Then I ventured further out to Palm Spring directly opposite Tiara. Well, the welcoming looked so grand but what I saw inside was sad. All the units were left to rot away. The buildings were beautiful over looking the golf course. How  SAD>>

6 JULY 2011
Day two here with new frens and given group work to present. As we were discussing, I found myself judging another teachers and started dividing them into different category according to my fave series.. Grey's Anatomy...OMG... was I doing that ??? We have Dr Sheperd talking to us but discussing it out LOUD in her brain. Then two young men busy goggling away for species of birds and added links.Reminded me: Christy Yang and Meredith Grey running after Bailey for new cases. Then there is me ... too busy sitting with arms folded .. Who do I remind you of?
A lonely crab and ME on the beach. Soul mates.

Hurray..... The afternoon lectures are OUT.. Feeling like a prisoner, I took off to venture the beaches that PD has to offer. The first place that I visited on my own was the light house and the Blue Lagoon. Blue Lagoon was a really disappointment , full of rubbish and mud. I told myself that East Coast beaches are so much cleaner like Pantai Hiburan in Kuala Rompin and Pasir Penyabong.

Feeling SAD, drove to Teluk Kemang... the beach was much better and saw many happy faces playing in the sea. I saw one of them/ Soaking my feet ... felt FREE.
