5 WEEKS OF HOLIDAYS

After been sick for more than a month, I am only left with 5 important weeks to go. I want to treasure these 35 days of total silence and 100% peace of NO WORK< NO NOISY > NO YELLING> NO GIVING OF HOMEWORK > NO MARKING OF BOOKS>>> FAR FAR AWAY at home.

You heard me clear....
Once you are on the right track then you will enjoy my blog of sharing why is it important to have long long holidays.

The humble life of a teacher, mother, wife and a 200% gym freak.   ( Thank God that I am NOT a control freak unless you are by maddness end up as my STUDENT)

1. Alarm clock rings..... 5.45am... urgh.... in my mind... human should never created this piece of machine. My niece has 4 of these to shake her up.
2. Prepare breakfast then cook lunch.
3. Next mandi time.Do up myself.
4. Quickly chew down the food. Most of the time, i love anything not made by me.
5. JOM SEKOLAh.By the way, school starts at 7.20am. We cannot cheat cos all teachers have to punch in.

6. My Mantra after 28 years, beat the bell. Be in school early( Better earlier than your boss).Impression is PENTING here.
7. Class starts... talk, blah , yell, tell a good joke, laugh here
and there and mark books.

8. We do NOT HAVE coffee break or even LUnch break . The only break is free period for that day. On good days, you get an less 1 hour.
My tired students but not my minion in class. See they get a good share of breaks.

9.bye bye teacher.... You hope to chilli a bit before going home. Wrong..... Meeting starts at 1 pm and most of the time, it will end 3 or4pm.
We do not have lunch break. I know a lot of people are jealous by saying so best.

A moment of laughter by 5V1

IN May 2012, I had to bring my students for a trip during the holidays. See .. as a teacher life is not a bed of roses. My conclusion.... Yes me the poor teacher need a break cause there days that we go home at 5 pm without breaks and we still continue to smile.

Sense of Fashion Part 2

Lets face it. Fashion is not my forte. I wear what i LIKE and COMFORTABLE to work , to gym and casual.

Recently, I was quite depressed having two important wedding dinners to attend in 2013. Each and everytime, the mention of such events gives me headache. When I stare at my barren closets, my head spins. I do have lots of black T Shirt, lots of floral skirts and gym clothes to open a shop but yet, getting me to WEAR a DRESS is like hoping for Snow in Malaysia.

Most of the time, I will have a good idea to recycle my dresses for my family dinner. After so many years down the road, I have failed to keep up at who's dinner or wedding which dress or which bag. Maybe years ago, I should secretly written down in my black note book.

I can imagine my kids rolling their eyes again at my sense. I do not believe in buying new baju for all the wedding and dinner. Pokai lor!

Fast forward to yesterday, my THIRD sis and I were in Mid Valley, I tried on a Dress. Yes, you read right.... Roll those eyes... To make it more inreresting, it was a short knee length Maroonish dress.
I am not a keen person on this colour even thru a million years ago, someone mentioned that I do actually look good in this colour.I did not buy but I felt that I FELL IN LOVE......YIPEE.

Sense of Fashion

Recently, I had the upmost need to think out of the box about myself. I wanted a change and to test the looks on people that cares for me and common people on the street, kedai kopi and gym.

Right after the last day of school, I drove to my crazy hair stylist and said right into his face... lets do something that the whole world will not forgive me.

As crazy he is with me( the model),my hair became the subject. I must say that my family is too shocked till today after 2 weeks especially my darling Faye..... She sounded like the mother scolding the daughter..Hnnnnn like this I NEED TO SPEAK TO AH GUAT.... MAMA !!!!. You looked so Ah Lian like Ah Beng's girlfriend. I shocked my head. Anyway, I do not have AH Beng for a partner. I go solo.

Since i dah kena marah. I will NOt update with photos to shame my family but i think secretly in my chicken heart.. I liked it but takut since my family rolled their eyes thinking that just maybe my sense of fashion has gone down the drain.

Pss... if you have a wild imagine just picture a blond mohican with a brightly coloured hairstyle and the sides of my head is so short that my scald is seen. So next time don't judge a person from the hairdo. By the way, I am a teacher.... I know my students in BK will say... Dah gila cos I miss them gila-gila.

From a different perspective... INDONESIA

As the saga continues, my personal young Male friend came from aboard and filled me with tales of interesting Indo. Yes, he bought with him very little clothing, lots of hair gel to look awesome and very little money.

Firstly, he declared that we should appreciate the traffic jam in Malaysia cause getting struck in Jakarta was a terrible terrible nightmare below our wild dreams here. There were 14 lanes but he was in a jam for more than 4 hours. In Malaysia, if that happens , will we have a street RIOT? Do not sweat, along the highways there are toilets.

Do you have any idea what shop is this?

If you look carefully, pretty soon you will see people living under the highway with their families in Jakarta. It made me appreciate my humble home in Klang. I cannot imagine to bring up my kids in such surrounding.

The rich ones in high rise building, we found it interesting was that there are coconut or palm trees in the balcony. See nothing is impossible. Money speaks very loud.

Shopping is must for all ladies but the guys went  on a FISHING trip. Feast your eyes.

So one is blinded with so many choices. The guys were there to conduct a hypothesis.
They came to A big conclusion: the girls across the field is much more GEBU GEBU.
So much for the fishing trip.

Next, we should appreciate the public service in Malaysia. At least KTM do not encourage the passengers to do this.If you observe, some passengers had special seats on top. I do not think I am brave enough to do so. Would you?
Food is wonderful only on the first day. Next day, they complained that they were served the same Nasi Padang.

When I saw these pictures, it reminded me of China. I asked him What do you want to eat back in Malaysia? Maggi Mee was the reply. So Malaysian.

Next The dark side of Indonesia. People if you should read my blog appreciate your love ones and the comfort provided by your parents.

The mother is breast feeding with exposed..... along the streets in Bandung.

The monkey show along the streets in Sukajadi. Poor monkeys.

An old grandfather and grandchild. My heart goes to the child.

Living under a tree with four children in Sukajadi

Chit Chat along the road which caused a massive jam. Yet the drivers do not horn. In Malaysia, we will kill the motorcyclist!

Free side shows while waiting for the jam to ease. They are peddlers.

A common sad side in Indonesia. Be happy .. we are Malaysians.

All these are sad cases. Be thankful that we have homes to go to , not need to peddle or ask for help. Count your blessings.

Jalan and Makan Holiday

Faye and I decided that a short break is necessary to bond the relationship. We drove together to seek better food away from home. After 5 hours to arrive our destination. The journey was good but looking for the hotel gave both of US a massive SAKIT KEPALA.

Before departing we already did the homework getting a map and asking for directions. The moment we arrive the town, somehow reading the map failed. Faye said... Mama, you should buy a new GPS and no getting down and begging random guys for direction. I assumed it was the best way to know friendly people and test their patience.

Along the sesat time, we stopped and asked a man, telling him about our predicament. He stated that in this town, there are too much fork road and HABIS if you should take the wrong turning. OMG,,, I have to agree with him since I had to drive and Faye was ordered to read the map well. After the clear direction, we reached the hotel.

Next FOOD.... lunch was important .... Assam Laksa... Yummy plus Lobak... Hmmm... I felt it was the drive here.Char kuay Teow.....

Day 2: We were lost again looking a random coffee shop to have bread highly recommended by a personal friend. The so called shop was in Chulia Street. I asked a lady parked next to me.... where is Lebuh Chulia? She corrected me... Chulia Street. I see you are not from here.
Her direction was not clear and again we sesat again. Along the way, we  saw a Chinese man selling apom with a friend chatting with him. Faye said... Mama, since you are wearing a dress... You asked ...maybe he will be a better help( THE DRESS).. I told myself will the dress influence the opposite gender? I doubt so.

The both of them was such a GEM... showed me the way and even gave me review of the food that we SHOULD try....
Lovely Hokkien mee in a random shop that also served Dim Sim. I really liked this dish plus sambal belchan. Double Yummy. This shop is situated in Lebuh Carnavon. That was a delicious breakfast.

After shopping in Queensbay, my tummy wanted good food. We started searching again for Famous Char Kuay Teow in Lorong Selamat. Faye was given the big task to read the map. As we were lost , I stopped in front of an old shoplot, a man wearing a red  Tshirt , an earring on his left ring, jumped out and declared:" I will take you their on my bike". Gladly, I was over the moon to find a shiny knight on his bike. After turning left, right and FINALLY...  we found the place. I am so blessed to find friendly people on this holiday. Kindness do exist... I am still wondering if I really need a GPS.

Without doubt, the noodles was good but pricey... rm7.50 for a small plate. But then I drove all the way here. Faye liked the ABC also MAHAL. Rm 2.50.

Happy with lunch, was a time to head back to get some goodies for friends. We were in Tean Ean . I asked around the local when to have dinner since the previous nite, the food in Gurney Drive was not so best. The girls recommended a local food court near the hotel. I must say the food is so much better. The prices were much better. We observed a lot of local were eating here. Faye had prawn mee soup. I had Noodles with oyster... Hmm. Good for money too. A thumb UP.
Delicious Chee Fung with yummy sauce.

Death due to ADD MATHS

A student just wrote on his wall declaring that jumping into Klang River is a better solution than taking Addition Mathematics tomorrow.
I am wondering if only we, humans will do such rubbish to avoid facing difficulties.
As a teacher and a humble human, I will NEVER ask anyone to jump but to face the UGLY truth. I have many many times given advices to my girls in Bukit kuda to seek help .

No doubt, I am just an ordinary Maths teaching Form 4 and 5 but I, too had the same problem. But I am lucky to have a good teacher teaching me in Form 6. He is Mr Tan which gave me a better understanding of Add Maths and improved myself so much . I Love Add Maths and did quite well. I am able to major in Maths in UM for 4 years.Since then, i have been teaching Maths.

Most students do not like Add Maths is lack of pratice and not remembering the important formulae. My heart go to all of them.

Sick and Alone

Got a terrible flu bug for more than 2 weeks. Since i was not allowed to go gym, i was bored to death.
Then I decided to try my hands on cooking. Cooking is not my FORTE.
The journey of self discovering was interesting and made friends.I seek help from my friend Nuzul, another Maths teacher sitting nearby.

The first attempt was chilli prawn taught by Nurul. it was not that good. Ran back to Nuzul, gave my review. We repaired the missing ingredients. Tried again with sotong, fish and even fried taukuay... Now, it is okay okay.

The next project was my childhood favourite is Kerabu. Again interviewed her and tried and tried. It took two ot three attempts. I am happy that I dah BERJAYA.I am comfortable if i am asked to prepare Kerabu Kacang botol. Yummy. ( Sorry... self praise)

Recently meet my second sister, to taught me how to quiche. Trying soon but i need an oven first.

Conclusion.... like I always tell my students... Just don not give up, you will improve will lots of patience and practise.

Losing Weight

Losing weight is like an absurd equations. Those pointless equations to which no solution exists are called
absurdities
(a+b) (a-b) = .........
Many people out there will teach a trick or two to lose weight.
a) No dinner.... OMG..... mati aku
b) Drink water before you eat.
c) Eat more fruits and veggie ( me not a moo moo)
d) Eat oats and cereals.
e) do this and that,
Seriously, I have been trying for the past 20 years, I am still human not a moo moo yet maybe soon.
The beginning of all these were the toughest, I am surprised that I survived with all the pointless equations mentioned but I know and sure is THE WILL within us.

Now, it dawned on me that losing weight is a MEGA business. Even the men are becoming aware the need to look good. Just today, my friend told me that her 5 year old girl does not want to eat rice anymore cos she is on a DIET. OMG... how young they start which is frighting and bad.
My paranoid friend thinks that by eating a small piece of meat makes her into Hulk. Hmmm... i am speechless. Well, i am sure if we all sit down and think there is a way to all these.

5V1 and 5V4 Bukit Kuda 2012

As my girls sat for their papers this morning, I felt so proud of them taking an important examination which will test them what they have learned from me in SMKP Bukit Kuda for two years.
I assumed that they enjoyed my class as much I had teaching them .

5V1
Monitor: Yi Wen... a very very tall girl with a sweet smile. A hard working girl.
Busy body managing the PR is Rachel Lum followed closely is Shu Wei. You see one then you get two.
The low keys are like San Ni, her voice is louder than mine in class.

Anita and Yee Theng.... smiling away. Both are just as good in my subject.

Nashua gives a smile yet closing her mouth. Wafa will help if asked. Yusra is always there to listen...

Yoke Teng is blur trying to think about this and that.

Suat Yee smiles when she greets me but such a shy girl.

5V4
In 2011, i found to be so passive not interested in my subjects. I was hard on them pushing them and saying things that mad them realized that Mathematics is not that easy but you can if there is a will.
I am so proud of them today that all the afternoons we stayed back after school doing papers of Maths. I am glad that they came and we worked. Pavithra and Kogila is the best example. I really pray that Kogila will get a good result.
We toiled away but the best will prevail when they see their result.
