Jalan and Makan Holiday

Faye and I decided that a short break is necessary to bond the relationship. We drove together to seek better food away from home. After 5 hours to arrive our destination. The journey was good but looking for the hotel gave both of US a massive SAKIT KEPALA.

Before departing we already did the homework getting a map and asking for directions. The moment we arrive the town, somehow reading the map failed. Faye said... Mama, you should buy a new GPS and no getting down and begging random guys for direction. I assumed it was the best way to know friendly people and test their patience.

Along the sesat time, we stopped and asked a man, telling him about our predicament. He stated that in this town, there are too much fork road and HABIS if you should take the wrong turning. OMG,,, I have to agree with him since I had to drive and Faye was ordered to read the map well. After the clear direction, we reached the hotel.

Next FOOD.... lunch was important .... Assam Laksa... Yummy plus Lobak... Hmmm... I felt it was the drive here.Char kuay Teow.....

Day 2: We were lost again looking a random coffee shop to have bread highly recommended by a personal friend. The so called shop was in Chulia Street. I asked a lady parked next to me.... where is Lebuh Chulia? She corrected me... Chulia Street. I see you are not from here.
Her direction was not clear and again we sesat again. Along the way, we  saw a Chinese man selling apom with a friend chatting with him. Faye said... Mama, since you are wearing a dress... You asked ...maybe he will be a better help( THE DRESS).. I told myself will the dress influence the opposite gender? I doubt so.

The both of them was such a GEM... showed me the way and even gave me review of the food that we SHOULD try....
Lovely Hokkien mee in a random shop that also served Dim Sim. I really liked this dish plus sambal belchan. Double Yummy. This shop is situated in Lebuh Carnavon. That was a delicious breakfast.

After shopping in Queensbay, my tummy wanted good food. We started searching again for Famous Char Kuay Teow in Lorong Selamat. Faye was given the big task to read the map. As we were lost , I stopped in front of an old shoplot, a man wearing a red  Tshirt , an earring on his left ring, jumped out and declared:" I will take you their on my bike". Gladly, I was over the moon to find a shiny knight on his bike. After turning left, right and FINALLY...  we found the place. I am so blessed to find friendly people on this holiday. Kindness do exist... I am still wondering if I really need a GPS.

Without doubt, the noodles was good but pricey... rm7.50 for a small plate. But then I drove all the way here. Faye liked the ABC also MAHAL. Rm 2.50.

Happy with lunch, was a time to head back to get some goodies for friends. We were in Tean Ean . I asked around the local when to have dinner since the previous nite, the food in Gurney Drive was not so best. The girls recommended a local food court near the hotel. I must say the food is so much better. The prices were much better. We observed a lot of local were eating here. Faye had prawn mee soup. I had Noodles with oyster... Hmm. Good for money too. A thumb UP.
Delicious Chee Fung with yummy sauce.
